Ride and hike weekend

Big weekend of exercise just gone...

Saturday morning I went on a huge ride with the local MTB club - 76kms (stava cut out for a bit) and 5hrs+ moving time. I was wrecked by the time I got home. I think the main guys from the club were trying to find a new route as we kept getting completely lost and having to stop to ask farmers where to go. We ended up trekking through a mandarin farm and eventually finding a road out. I certainly wouldn't want to be lost like that by myself!

This little creek doesn't look very deep but one of the guys fell in up to his neck! Complete with mobile phone and everything in his pockets.

The old fashioned way of making charcoal...imagine the size of this bonfire!

Then Sunday morning Carolina and I went for a test hike with our new hiking gear. It was raining way too hard at the end of Valle de Cocora so we opted for the easy option in Salento up the 4x4 track. Really beautiful scenery looking down onto Salento. I definitely need to do it again on a nice sunny day before the clouds roll in.

I only have it about once a month but Sunday afternoon was definitely time for a Bandeja paisa again!

Despite the man size appetite, I was still only able to get through about 3/4 of it!
